| Getting Downtown Paris |
The RER line B runs frequently throughout the day, departing from the TGV station of CDG 2 to the Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, St-Michel and Denfert-Rochereau, where there are métro stations (journey time - 30-45 minutes).
The Roissy Bus, nicknamed the Opera bus because it disembarks its passengers across the street from the Opera Garnier on the Rue des Scribe is named after the town (Roissy) in which the Charles Des Gaulle airport is located. The travel time into Paris, once you leave the airport is about 60 minutes.
The Blue Shuttle is a door-to-door airport minibus service that is often cheaper than a taxi. Places must be reserved at least two days in advance (journey time - 1 hour 15 minutes). Ticket prices vary according to the number of passengers and the time of booking, the cheapest rate is only available if booked at least three weeks ahead.

Peak Season:
The major tourist season, runs from Easter to mid-September, with another peak in the winter months. July and mid-January are busy with the couture fashion shows and Bastille Day (July 14) is also a very busy time. August is a bit quieter, with most Parisians out of town on vacation. September through mid-October has ideal weather and cultural events start coming back after the August break. |

There are few tourists in March and April. First-class and deluxe hotels are easy to come by in the summer but budget and economy places tend to be full. |
